Usability Testing

Blink’s in-house usability labs help our clients identify user interface problems before they become business problems.

Usability Labs

Our usability labs are equipped to handle paper-based, on-screen, or hardware device testing. All three labs use advanced usability recording and analysis software. Our labs are versatile and can accommodate:

  • Testing from a single workstation and 1:1 interviews
  • Mobile device testing
  • Testing from two or more networked PCs
  • Eye tracking testing
  • Studies in simulated living room and gaming environments
  • Focus group testing

Several camera angles are offered in all three labs for the best possible viewing experience for clients and other project stakeholders.

Client Observation Areas

The client observation areas offer seating for optimal viewing of sessions through flat-panel displays with dual picture-in-picture captures from the testing sessions. Wireless Internet connections and multiple whiteboards create a constructive environment for note-taking and productivity during sessions.  Sessions can also be streamed live for remote observers.

Field Testing

Interested in testing your product at your location or in the field? We can bring the lab to you or your users. Our portable testing equipment offers all of the benefits of a lab plus the realism of an authentic user environment. The portable lab is outfitted with audio and video recording equipment, as well as advanced usability analysis software.

Testing in Other User Research Facilities

Our suite of mobile and remote equipment allows our usability consultants to go where your users are or to capture geographic diversity in a study. We’ve conducted tests in facilities throughout North America, Asia, and Europe.

Handheld Testing

Handheld devices require unique testing tools due to their small size. Blink has developed its own specialized equipment to capture user actions on tablets, smart phones, and even smaller input and display devices.
